Adventure Sailing
|
This is Sail UK’s adventure sailing programme and we use our purpose built ocean going vessel – Bold Explorer.
She is a Bruce Roberts 434 steel built cutter rigged sloop built to Codes of Practice for the Safety of Small Commercial Vessels under Category "0" unrestricted worldwide operation. This is a requirement of the British Department of Transport governing commercial vessels and covers stability, construction, machinery, operation and manning. The vessel was constructed under the careful scrutiny of YBDSA Surveyors to ensure its proper construction and it’s compliance with category "O" as a sail training vessel.
Bold Explorer has to date sailed around Iceland several times, circumnavigated the British Isles visiting Orkney and several west coast Scottish islands en-route, sailed to the Azores several times, visited many ports in Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Gibraltar, Madeira, The Canary Islands, The Cape Verde Islands, St.Lucia, Martinique and St.Marten.
Her trips this year will include another circumnavigation of the British Isles, trips to the Scilly Isles and the Channel Islands and Brittany. In August she will be making another ocean passage to the Azores and back via Santander before she sets off down to the Canary Islands for the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) which leaves Las Palmas for St.Lucia in November. So there is something for everyone with both short and long trips with destinations at either ferry or airport terminals enabling crew easier travel arrangements.

Licensing & Pricing

The boat is licensed to carry ten people but we restrict numbers to a maximum of eight.
7 Day Cruise Aboard Bold Explorer
£540.00 per person all inclusive of meals, oilskins, lifejacket, fuel and berthing fees but not including travel to and from the vessel.
ARC 2008
£1700.00 per person as above. This is cost from Las Palmas to St Lucia max 21 days.
Poole to Azores
£980.00 per person as above. Max. 14 days.
Azores to Poole
£980.00 per person as above. Max. 14 days.
